HAYNES HR-160 alloy

 

HAYNES HR-160 alloy is a heat resistant alloy with exceptional resistance to the most common forms of high temperature corrosion. This resistance is obtained by a high content of chromium and silicon which provides the alloy with a tightly closed oxide film, giving it a very high protection against sulfur, chlorine, vanadium and other salt deposits.

The heat-resistant HR-160 alloy (UNS N12160) is/has:

  • Nickel-cobalt-chromium-silicon alloy
  • Good resistance to sulfidation and other aggressive environments at high temperatures
  • Widely used in waste incineration and boilers
  • Exceptional resistance to oxidation, hot corrosion, carbonization, metal dusting
  • Excellent welding properties

HAYNES HR-160 alloy obtains its strength through solution hardening and is superior to conventional Fe-Ni-Cr and Ni-Cr alloys. Successful applications are found in waste incineration, chemical processes, coal gasification, industrial heating and power plants. HAYNES HR-160 alloy can be easily deformed hot or cold by various techniques and is easily welded by standard methods.
